Tribute To Braun’s Design

After the Systeme exposition that happened on the 31st of January 2014 in London, designers have been invited to give Braun’s products a tribute.

Braun is a German company founded in Francfort in 1921 by Max Braun. His company has specialized in appliance products. During the 1961 year, Dieter Rams, who was a well-known architect and designer, became Braun’s design director. He occupied this function until 1995. His work was a new beginning for the brand and he brought a trend of industrial modern design. Dieter Rams had ten principles about a design that have ruled his work.

A design must:

1. Be innovative
2. Provide a utility to each product
3. Be aesthetic
4. Make a product understandable
5. Be Discret
6. Be Honest
7. Be honestHave a long-term value
8. Design every detail with an exhaustive precision
9. Be environmentally friendly
10. Be minimalist
